FORMER First School Headteacher Tom Leech is doing well with his 1000 mile sponsored cycle ride.

On 26th September he reported to the school that he was well on track despite numerous challenges en route.

He has needed to repair four punctures since leaving Dorset on Friday 18th September and after completing the 94 mile stretch (in six and a half hours) from Blackpool to York, the gears jammed leading to a visit to the bicycle repair shop in York.

However, the weather has been kind so far and the sun has been shining.

He also reported to the children that the Viking Centre was well worth a visit!

The Friends of Milborne First School are organising the fundraising and the children their families and friends are avidly following his progress daily and supporting him by collecting dedications on their sponsorship forms.

The money raised by Tom will be used to buy new outdoor equipment for the school.

If you would like to add to the sponsorship money then please contact the school on 01258 837362.

* THE newly re-opened Royal Oak pub in Milborne has a couple of events coming up.
