The seventh season of recitals by the Osmington Recorded Music Society began in Osmington village hall on 15 September 2014 with a programme of largely English music, presented by the Society’s chairman Peter Foster, a voice well known to anyone who has listened to Hospital Radio in Dorchester, where Peter is a seasoned presenter with many years of experience. The programme featured many great artists from what many regard as the glory years of British music-making, with Sir Malcolm Sargent being featured, also Isobel Baillie, among other great names. The society’s next meeting takes place on Monday 6 October when members are invited to “Bring a Disc” from their own collection. Anyone requiring information about the Society is invited to ring Heather Foster on Dorchester 262121, or e-mail her on heather.foster1@btinternet.com
