TICKETS are on sale for the St Peter's Portesham Harvest Supper which will take place at the village hall on Saturday, 15 October.

The supper will be raising funds for ShelterBox and giftaid forms will be available both in church and at the supper itself. A speaker from ShelterBox will also be at the St Peter’s Harvest Festival service at 1030 on Sunday, 2 October. More details can be found at www.shelterbox.org.

Tickets cost £6.50 and will be available from Liz Draper on 871316 or from the Tuesday Post Office cafe if any are remaining. Raffle, entertainment and community singing included!

Also on Sunday, 2 October, ARTSREACH returns to Portesham village hall with the extremely popular “Ben Osborne’s Jurassic Journey”. The show starts at 7.30pm with a bar available from 7pm.

Tickets cost £7.50 for adults, £6 for under 18’s and family tickets are £25. They are available from Gill Brignell on 871925 or email gillbrignell@aol.co.uk and also from the Tuesday village cafes between 10 am and 12 noon.

The show is perhaps of most interest to adults and children over 12 and is a celebration of the Jurassic Coast World Heritage site shown through photography, poetry, music and sculpture.

Further Artsreach presentations will continue throughout the year and into 2012.

THE village hall will be busy this week with the Abbotsbury and Portesham RBL Ladies section meeting at 7.30pm on Monday, 12 September for their talk entitled “Memory Box”.

Portesham WI will also be at the village hall on Tuesday, 13 September for their meeting and talk by Peter Hammond entitled “The Joy of Water Colour Painting”.

PORTESHAM Primary School will be having another Bag2School collection on Monday, 19 September.

Please bring any clean, usable clothing, shoes, curtains, bed linens etc to the school before 9.30 am.

THE Diamond club will be visiting Swanage on Tuesday, 20 September with an optional trip from Norden to Swanage by steam train.

The coach leaves Portesham at 1035 and train tickets cost £5.50.

THE next village cafe will be hosted by Portesham Bridge Club on Saturday, 24 September at the usual time of 10am to 12 noon.

DURING October, Thelma Mentern from Orchard House, Church Lane, Portesham, will be supporting cancer charities by selling lots of plants beginning with “P”!

Thelma sells plants throughout the year with all profits going to local charities, but for October she is linking with Breakthrough Breast cancer and their Pink campaign to sell pinks, pansies, penstemons, primroses and polyanthus.

Come along and support this very worthwhile cause.
