EXUBERANT birdsong greeting the spring sunshine accompanied Friends of Lodmoor Country Park as they enjoyed a bird-spotting stroll recently.

The RSPB's Luke Phillips and volunteer Michael Morse helped Friends of all ages identify birds in the park and on its border, from chiffchaffs to chaffinches, and dunnocks to sedge warblers.

With a Marsh Harrier soaring above, the Friends declared the free event a great success, which they hope to repeat in the autumn, with the support of the RSPB.

The next opportunity to enjoy Lodmoor Country Park in the company of an expert will be the Spring Tree Time Walk on Saturday, May 22 at 10am.
