IT was perfect weather for the Radipole Primary School Summer Fete.

There were many stalls and games and a popular attraction was Trad Casey’s three-inch scale steam engine, which took 12 months to complete.

AROUND £1,500 was raised for PTA funds that provide support for school activities and extras. Such as the invaluable swimming pool which pupils have enjoyed over the years as a direct result of tireless efforts by the PTA!

THE sun shone for the Pig Roast hosted by St Aldhelm’s Church.

This was a community event, with free activities, refreshments and family fun.

The annual event is put on for the neighbourhood in order for the church to offer a fun time with hospitality for all age groups.

The popular Omega Project created a lively, happy sound, with their mix of pop/jazz/rock music, while children played, adults chatted and the whole atmosphere was pleasant and relaxed.

REPRESENTATIVES from twenty community and voluntary organisations heard from Nicolette Heath who spoke about the County Council’s Extended Services at the Meeting Point Community Lunch.

She described her role in the co-ordination children’s and family services with schools to provide a range of help, facilities and activities available from 8am to 6pm, holiday clubs and parenting support.

The meeting then heard of activities and events taking place and progress of the various groups represented.

There was then the useful opportunity for individual discussions over a pleasant buffet lunch.
