WELL, it's goodbye to Bob and Joan.

We all had an emotional time at Bob's last service at Holy Trinity at West Lulworth, a last concert the night before at West Lulworth Village Hall from Hambury Tout, and a farewell lunch prepared by PPS at West Lulworth Village Hall again, so all our best wishes for their new ventures in Jersey.

  • THE Mellstock Band enjoyed a good reception at Winfrith Village Hall on Saturday, giving a sell-out performance of Christmas and festive music and readings, courtesy of Artsreach.

This return visit from the group was much enjoyed by the audience.

  • Don't forget to visit the Christmas fayres at both Winfrith and West Lulworth Village Halls tomorrow!

Both will be well worth visiting, but I am not sure whether Father Christmas is visiting both - he is certainly coming to Winfrith!

  • It's the run-up to Christmas now, so look out for Marley House's coffee morning at 10.30 and also one at West Lulworth Village Hall starting at 10.15, both on Tuesday, December 4.

n In the evening at 7.30pm Pauline and Sheila have arranged their annual Christmas bingo.

Please come along and support this popular event.

Loads of lovely seasonal prizes, a raffle and refreshments will all make an enjoyable evening for bingo enthusiasts.

  • Great preparations are under way for the barn dance taking pace at West Lulworth Village Hall on Saturday, December 8 starting at 7.30pm.

Jump the Sun are the group playing and leading the barn dance.

Tickets are on sale at Winfrith Post Office.

Look out for John's notice boards - a great way of finding out what's on around our patch of villages.

  • THE drama group had an open morning at Winfrith Village Hall last week, and John, the treasurer, had prepared a report about the lottery money and what it is to be spent upon.

We had several visitors and spent time talking to everyone about what is happening.

  • THE Winfrith Village Hall committee have held their AGM and welcome three new committee members, Wendy Jones, Cheryl who has recently moved into the village and Jan Weekes.

An open gardens event is being planned for 2008, and there is sufficient interest to hold another meeting at Marley House in early December to discuss more details.

Look out for John's notice boards!

I thanked everyone for their good wishes on her leaving the village hall committee and for my lovely flowers.

  • Chase those winter cobwebs away and join everyone for a winter beach clean at Lulworth Cove on December 9 from 10 until noon.

Call 01929 400155, the Lulworth Rangers phone number, for more information.

They have great plans for next year so we are looking forward to hearing all about them.
