• THE weekend started with Hank Wangford and Brad Breath appearing at Winfrith Village Hall with a sparkling and interesting take on their style of country and western music.

A full house enjoyed lively tunes, excellent anecdotes with a wide range of instruments played by Brad. We’ll look forward to seeing them again.

  • ITALIAN food reigned supreme on the Saturday night, prepared by Emiel and Kate in aid of Wool Cancer Care, a group of friends who are raising funds to help some families suffering with cancer in Wool.

The evening was sponsored by Langley Travel which meant that over £800 was raised on the evening for the good cause and we all had a fun time too.

The group are holding more events over the next few months with the next one being held on Sunday March 6 when there will be a family fun walk in Wareham Forest starting at 2.30pm. Meet at the Sika Trail car park and the cost will be £5 per family.

  • ST Christopher’s church AGM took place recently and two new churchwardens have been appointed as well as a new committee. Dot Palmer Fry and Giles Marsh have taken up their positions. Everyone wishes to thank Carol Sharp for all her hard work and dedication to the church over the last few years.
  • WINFRITH Drama group with help from the luvvies of Swanage are presenting two, one act comedies on Thursday March 3 and Friday March 4.

There will be a meal in between the two plays and tickets at £7.50 are available at Winfrith Post Office or call 01305 852844 for more details.

  • TICKETS are on sale too at Winfrith Post Office for the Progressive Beetle Drive, which will be held on Friday March 25 in aid of Cancer Research.

This is the fifth year this evening has taken place and you can tell we like our food in Winfrith as there will be a fish and chip supper, as well as the excitement of playing Beetle!
