DORSET County Museum has completed its purchase of three special paintings.
Cash from the Heritage Lottery Fund, the Art Fund and donations saved three George Romney portraits earlier this year.
The works by the 18th century artist had been on loan at the museum and staff said they were in danger of being sold overseas.
The pictures show Thomas Rackett the younger and his parents.
Rackett went on to become an iconic figure for his work in archaeology, geology and natural history.
