MATT Richardson was sweet, silly and very funny during his stand-up comedy gig in Poole.
Taking centre stage in Lighthouse Poole's Studio room, a small, intimate setting with bright lights and long bench tiered seating, Mr Richardson was welcomed onto the stage by rapturous whoops and applause.
Best know for working on ITV2's The Xtra Factor alongside fellow presenter Caroline Flack, the young comedian who hails from Oxford offers naughty and ditsy jokes in equal measure, served up with a huge scoop of fun.
He was supported by Jonathan Elston, who has appeared at Edinburgh Fringe Festival and made gags about getting stuck on the ropes at Go Ape, being single, and life after university.
Mr Elston chose to go with a few risqué jokes, which did not seem to go down well with the small crowd, but after a small break, it was back to Matt Richardson.
Around 10 minutes into the second half, he himself, was the butt of a joke at his expense about hamsters. As they say with any misunderstood joke, you had to be there.
But this won the audience onside and as he tells the crowd about life living at home with mum and dad, it is easy to see why his tour is named, Hometown Hero.
