GRAMERCY ARMS Seasons of Love THIS New York based revolving collective of musicians has produced an anthemic album of heart-soaring choruses and introspective lyrics.
The Seasons of Love is made up of 10 tracks inspired by the artistic heyday of 70s and 80s era New York City.
The album is mostly upbeat, full of diverse influences from musicians as diverse as Erin Moran of A Girl Called Eddy and Lloyd Cole and Joan Wasser of Joan As Police Woman.
I particularly enjoyed the contemplative and zen-like Yours Untruly and the Springsteen influence of The Night Is Your Only Friend.
Another favourite of mine was the Cole and Wasser duet Beautiful Disguise, the kind of track that should accompany a spot of people watching in the Big Apple’s Washington Square Park and the West Village.
What I truly love about this album is its wide-ranging diversity. JOANNA DAVIS
