AN Open Art event is being held this weekend at St Michael’s Studios in Bridport.

Six artists will be showcasing their work and opening their studios on Saturday, December 6 from 10am to 5pm.

Kit Glaisyer will be showing new paintings of Bridport at night along with his current commissions and recent prints on canvas.

Caroline Ireland will have her colourful new still-life pastels on display – a perfect antidote to these dark winter days. She will also be showing prints and cards.

David Brooke is exhibiting his popular and distinctive imaginative mythological figures, including acrylic paintings, pen and ink drawings, plus prints and cards.

Marion Taylor is continuing her obsession with painting Colmer’s Hill, exploring colour, texture and pattern. Also the last few copies of her Colmer’s Hill book will be available alongside prints and cards.

Figurative painter Andrew Leppard will be showing recent work, including bold, gestural and sensuous figurative work, leaning towards abstraction with a distinctive tropical palette.

Painter Charlotte Miller shows her semi-abstract paintings on canvas and paper using oil and charcoal that are inspired by West Dorset’s beautiful hidden landscape.

St Michael’s Studios are in the long red brick building with a square tower that dominates the St Michael’s Trading Estate.

The entrance is the door next to Vintage Cornucopia. At the other end of the building Becca’s Fabric Larder will also be open, along with Fi Neylan Hats, both located above the Antiques shop.
