It's not the most well-known of musicals, but Barnum has always been one of my absolute favourites.
I remember seeing Michael Crawford perform the title role in a televised performance as a child and the magic of the upbeat numbers has stayed with me ever since.
So it was a real treat to see this wonderful show, which tells the tale of a showman who followed his dreams, thanks to the support of his long-suffering wife, brought to life on stage.
Phineas Taylor Barnum became the most famous American alive, thanks to his genius for promotion, showcasing star attractions before becoming a politician and eventually joining the circus.
Brian Conley was perfect in the role, commanding the stage throughout, effortlessly singing, dancing and even tight-rope walking his way through the energetic performance.
He was accompanied by an incredibly talented team of singers, dancers and circus performers who made the show a fantastic spectacle from start to finish.
Barnum is a riot of colour, energy and magical music you really don't want to miss.
