IT was pouring with rain outside but inside the Pavilion the audience was going on holiday.
The Bournemouth & Boscombe Light Opera Company’s production of the stage adaptation of the film Summer Holiday was an instant success.
Four London bus mechanics acquire a double-decker bus to drive around Europe.
On the way, they pick up three girls whose car has broken down and agree to take them on board.
All the songs made famous in the film of the same name by Cliff Richard are included Living Doll, Bachelor Boy, In The Country and We’re Going On A Summer Holiday.
The boys and the girls are well cast and Jasmine Gerken made an excellent Barbara as was her mother Elaine Peters.
The dancing and singing by the entire company was excellent throughout.
