STOMPIN’ Dave reunites with his old partner Oz for their first public appearance in their home county of Dorset for eight years.

They will be at The Sunray Folk Club in Broadmayne on February 27. From 1997 until 2006 Dave and Oz developed a cult following for their unique brand of folk and roots music, as duo Doctor Stomp and Professor Oz.

They performed together at many festivals and events across the west country and beyond including several appearances at Glastonbury Festival. Recently Dave and Oz have began doing occasional performances together again to great effect.

Described as ‘one of the world’s greatest performers’, Bridport-based Dave plays American roots music including old-time, bluegrass, blues, vintage country and folk.

He has been invited to perform at both The Boogaloo Blues Festival on the Isle of Wight and The Great Dorset Steam Fair for over five years in succession.

In recent years Dave has been regularly performing in art centres and theatres sometimes alongside touring musicians from the US.

Last year, Stompin’ Dave performed at Bestival, Towersey Folk Festival, The Cornish Folk Festival and National Banjo Day in London, as well as appearing at The Queen Elizabeth Olympic Park.

Don’t miss Dave’s first gig in the local area with his old friend Oz, who is the perfect foil to Dave’s exuberance and adds guitar, fiddle, and dobro to Dave’s singing, banjo, guitar, fiddle and flatfoot dancing.

They will be at Broadmayne Village Hall on February 27 from 8pm. Admission is £7 and an additional £1 club membership to The Sunray Folk Club is required. Call 07786 654074 for information.
