A DYNAMIC and emotional collection of Dylan Thomas’ most cherished poems will be meticulously set to music by Keith James at The Lyric Theatre, Bridport, at 7.30pm on Sunday.
Keith James has previously taken on the songs of Leonard Cohen, Nick Drake and John Martyn.
He said: “Not very many years ago, I had no idea that my journey of writing and producing music would draw me now toward such a doubtless love of poetry.”
In Time Let Me Play, Keith James brings to Bridport a concert of Dylan Thomas’ hugely honest and binding poems, allowing each word to embark on a new journey.
A synthesis and sensitive re-imagining of Thomas’ precious body of work, Keith realises its beauty, anger, shame and humility.
His performance on Sunday will also include poems he has set to music by Pablo Neruda, William Blake, Isabel Allende, Garcia Lorca and Leonard Cohen.
- Tickets are £10 from Bridport Arts Centre on 01308 424204. They will be available on the door at the Lyric from 7pm on Sunday.
