A HIGHLY entertaining show about the ups-and-downs of a couple’s romance is coming to Dorset.

Crazy Glue - A Madcap Play About the Messy Side of Love is at Bridport Arts Centre on Friday September 25 at 8pm.

They're a happy couple with a car in the garage, a chicken in the pot and a child on the way. But is that enough to make love stick?

Single Shoe Productions bring this highly entertaining show to West Dorset.

Inspired by award-winning author Etgar Keret’s short story of the same name, Crazy Glue sees its performers communicating solely through sound effects and their own invented language as they tell a universal story of love and loss.

When a newly wed couple find their first love has given way to the thornier terrain of married life, they discover how far they will go to fix their relationship even when it seems beyond repair.

The physical comedy of Buster Keaton combines with the madcap absurdity of Looney Tunes, as Single Shoe Productions plunge into the mad, messy, sticky side of love.

The project first began in June of 2012 when Co-Artistic Director Filipa Tomas discovered the short story Crazy Glue on Smith’s bookshelf.

Now, after three years of devising with seven international collaborators the show inspired by that discovery has toured to popular and critical acclaim across three countries.

Filipa said: “This show blends the physicality of silent films with cartoon-like sound effects.

"When paired with complex themes of love and loss we were excited at how it allowed us to focus on them with honesty, openness and humour.”
