AN EAGERLY anticipated fortnight full of art, and a unique opportunity of an insight into artists studios has finally arrived in Dorset.

Dorset Art Weeks is one of the largest open studio events in the country. Starting on Saturday, May 28 and running until June 12, the fortnight gives the public a rare chance to meet artists and learn more about their methods and work.

St Michael’s Studios stands at the heart of Bridport’s popular art and vintage quarter. 20 artists will be opening their studio.

The vibrant and popular Colmer’s Hill paintings by Marion Taylor which recently featured on ITV’s Walks with Julia Bradbury will be on display alongside landscapes by Kit Glaisyer and dream doodles in pastel by Caroline Ireland.

Mythical figurative works by David Brooke, figurative and abstract paintings by Andrew Leppard and semi-abstract landscapes by Charlotte Miller will also be bringing the creative space alive.

At Green Shack, run by ceramicist Jennie Hanrahan, silversmith Claire Whitfield will be showcasing her work alongside decorative pieces by Sophie Sharp.
