A CHUFFING good show is heading at full steam to Corfe Castle.

Chapterhouse Theatre Company is bringing the magical tale of The Railway Children to Corfe Castle on Tuesday August 23.

Adapted from E. Nesbit’s novel by Laura Turner, this is an unforgettable and heart-warming story of adventure and family set in the heart of the Yorkshire countryside.

The lives of three children are changed forever by the mysterious disappearance of their father. Finding a new home in a beautiful but isolated village the children make new friends and discover the wonders of the Yorkshire hills and the railway lines scattered throughout them.

With stunning period costume, traditional music and songs and a whole host of unforgettable characters, The Railway Children is a treat for all the family, perfect for a summer evening’s entertainment.

The Railway Children is a brand new show specially produced for audiences this summer.

Writer Laura Turner said: “The Railway Children has been a delight to adapt, filled with so many memorable moments of courage, heroism, love and friendship.

"It's a beautiful story of the strength we all have inside ourselves, set amidst the green and fertile countryside of the rolling Yorkshire hills, reminding us that a little bit of faith, love and trust is sometimes all you need.”

Director Bryony Tebbutt said: “I have always loved this story. It's a classic heart-warming tale of love and trust, and never giving up hope, and I hope this year's production will prove to be a fun, fast-paced piece of family entertainment.”
