HEAD out to Evershot Village Hall for an evening of music with the Christian Garrick Quintet on Saturday December 9 from 7.30pm.
Swinging tunes such as Sweet Georgia Brown, I’m Comin Virginia and S’Wonderful will be followed by meltingly beautiful ballads like My Serenade, Didn’t We and La Chanson De Rue. The quintet recalls the celebrated Hot Club Quintet Of France with Django Reinhardt as well as the George Shearing or Alan Clare piano-bass-drums quartets.
Christian Garrick is an improvising violinist, a composer and a bandleader. Active on both the international concert circuit and the London studio session scene, Christian is also a professor of jazz and non-classical violin at three of London’s major music conservatoires.
Familiar to many as the front man of the Budapest Café Orchestra, Chris has toured to Dorset on numerous occasions, and always to great acclaim.
