AN ECLECTIC four piece band from Breton is bringing its sound to two Dorset pubs next month.

Electric Bazar Co will play The Belvedere in Weymouth on Friday April 27 and The Ropemakers in Bridport on Saturday April 28.

This left-field four piece from France combine many influences ranging from early blues to Eastern European traditional music and good old fashioned rock 'n' roll.

Their heady mix of guitar, double bass, saxophone, bass clarinet, drums and organ will appeal to fans of original live music.

Electric Bazar Co. have been touring Europe for 20 years and have played around 1,000 concerts in festivals and music-clubs. The last 10 years has seen them tour with their own circus marquee and develop a theatrical

element to their performance.

The band was previously in England in October 2015 at the Onion Jack Festival in Bridport, where their music and marquee gained a fantastic response from local people.

Kev Davis from local music promoters Fuelled By Cider said: “We were very privileged to be asked to book these gigs after meeting the band in Brittany last summer.

"Electric Bazar Co. will be quite unlike anything you've seen in a small Dorset music venue for a while.”

The tour coincides with the recording of the band's seventh album Preachin' ongs and they are eager to unveil their new repertoire in these intimate south coast venues.

Both gigs are free entry and music runs from 9pm.
