CHILDREN and the young at heart are in for a special treat this half-term, with two delightful puppet shows touring across rural Dorset through Artsreach.

The original puppet masters PuppetCraft pay a very welcome visit to Dorset with a re-tour of their well-loved show The Mousehole Cat.

Based on the award-winning book by Antonia Barber, and inspired by folk legend, this story is set in the Cornish fishing village of Mousehole, where a storm has been raging for weeks. Everyone is hungry as the boats cannot leave the harbour to fish, so old Tom and his cat Mowzer set out to sea in their tiny boat, braving the storm, to try and save the village.

This charming tale, which is still celebrated each year in the village of Mousehole, is brought to life with carved wooden puppets, live music, song, a stunning set and lighting.

Angel Heart Theatre have gripped audiences wherever they perform and are back this half-term by high demand to continue touring Malina’s Dream.

This enchanting show reflects upon friendship and finding the way between two worlds. Malina is an excitable young girl who lives with Grandpa in the land of the midnight sun. Into her frozen world comes a stranger, whose ship is crushed in the ice. When Malina discovers her dream has become real she knows only she can save the stranger’s life…with just a little help from Grandpa and his magic drum!

This warm-hearted tale is inspired by true-life encounters between 19th century Scottish sailors and the Inuit communities of the Arctic.

Breath-taking puppets and live music create an unforgettable experience of magical theatre.
