THE Book ‘n’ Author Week literary festival is being held from Monday, April 11 to Friday, April 15 in Eype.
The Eype Centre for the Arts has put together the event with Dorset and Somerset authors.
The festival ranges from the culinary to war, travel, ancient and modern history and reflections on the world around us.
Food writer and cookery teacher Christine McFadden kicks off the festival at 11am on Monday with a talk on Pepper: the Spice that Changed the World.
This is followed at 2.30pm by Somerset resident Charlie Ellingworth’s presentation of his first novel Silent Night set in the Second World War.
Annelise Freisenbruch appears at 2.30pm on Tuesday, April 12 to talk about her boo, The First Ladies of Rome.
She was a researcher on the BBC1 drama series Ancient Rome: The Rise and Fall of an Empire and is currently working on the film Attila the Hun and Spartacus for the BBC.
Gavin Pretor Pinney appears at 11am on Wednesday, April 13 to introduce his new book The Wavewatcher’s Companion.
In the afternoon at 2.30pm Henry Hemming will appear. He has a new book called Together: How Small Groups Achieve Big Things.
Others lined up for the festival include historian Juliet Gardiner, antiques expert Paul Atterbury and novelist Robert Radcliffe.
Patrick French and Nicholas Jubber are also due to appear in the week.
