THIS month’s headliner at the Bridport Comedy Cafe is heading to the town, having taken the world-renowned Edinburgh Comedy Festival by storm in 2011.

Dubbed a ‘fireball of fun’ by Time Out magazine, Jessica Fostekew’s debut solo show at the fringe festival won her praise from The Independent who selected her as a best newcomer.

Since then, Jessica has gone on to perform on Radio Four and acted as BBC News’s comedy correspondent.

She is also a regular writer for hit shows such as Channel 4’s Stand Up For The Week and Radio Four’s The Now Show.

With more exciting TV and radio projects in the pipeline for Jessica it may well be a rare chance to see her before she is selling out venues across the UK.

Joining Jessica in the line up will be four westcountry men and one of Wales’s finest new young female comics.

Somerset-based funnymen, Mark Hurman, Alan Holloway, Nick Jenkin and Paul Wood, are all at various stages of their career but are each making their mark on the circuit with their unique acts.

Completing the bill is Swansea’s Frankie Williams, who puts audiences at ease with her easy charm and deadpan delivery.

The February Bridport Arts Centre Comedy Café will be at 8pm on Friday, February 24.

Tickets cost £5 plus concessions and are available from the box office on 01308 424204.
