The cost of actually maintaining the traffic system in Weymouth must be staggering compared with the tried and trusted roundabouts.

The King Street lights have been landscaped again at the bridge end, and I use the word landscaped in its loosest term.

Thousands of pounds of our money was ploughed into this scheme, which was to speed up the movement of traffic and to enhance our town to entice the tourists back after the fiasco of the Olympics.

None of which has occurred.

The traffic is either stationary for longer periods and encourages road rage on a daily basis, due entirely to bad planning, and the landscaping, although it looks good at the outset, reverts back to a weed-infested mess.

All this is paid for by us the people sitting looking at it on a daily basis.

Somebody somewhere is making a lot of money out of the residents of Weymouth’s misfortune, and, at the next elections, people should vote for a better Weymouth.
