Travelling the short stretch between the Littlemoor roundabouts heading towards the town centre on a fine winter morning recently I was quite taken by the beauty of the towering structure rising above the new balancing pond.
The perfectly proportioned supporting legs reaching upwards through the mist towards the sky certainly have an attraction beyond just their engineering purpose. With arms reaching out towards its neighbours to whom it was joined by puppet-like wires it has majesty to behold. I wondered what the cost of this magnificent electricity grid pylon would have been before thinking of its definite great benefit to the community.
Pity the view was marred by some scruffy rocks on poles that seem to have been fly-tipped into the pond at the base of the pylon.
