ORTHOPAEDIC surgeons at Dorset County Hospital will be leaving their top lips unattended as they support this year’s Movember campaign.
Eight staff from the hospital’s orthopaedic team will be ditching the razors for a month as they join the campaign in support of prostate cancer and other men’s health charities.
Simon Garrett, Colin Senior, Nick Fernandez, Nick Savva, Ian Barlow, Peter Ward, Sean Walsh and Tim Crook will be hoping for support from colleagues, patients and visitors to boost their fundraising total.
Mr Garrett said: “We have been talking about doing it for a while as quite a lot of us as orthopaedic surgeons deal with patients who have had bone problems related to prostate cancer and we are trying to get quite a lot of other departments involved as well.
“We have some collection boxes in the outpatients department and most of us work at the Winterbourne Hospital as well so we are going to have some collection boxes there.”
