Dorchester residents are being advised to prepare for winter and look at how they can cut their energy bills by up to £650.

The Dorchester, Sherborne and District Citizens Advice Bureau is running an event to mark Big Energy Saving Week on Friday November 2.

It will be teaming up with Dorset Community Action at the Co-operative store in Trinity Street from 10am to 3.30pm to offer tips on how to save money on energy bills.

Bureau manager Daniel Cadisch said: “Big energy bills and rising daily costs are putting extra pressure on household budgets. We’re worried that some people are finding themselves unnecessarily hard-up because they’re paying more than they have to on their fuel bill and aren’t able to get all of the help that’s available to them.

“Through Big Energy Saving Week we’re helping the nation prepare for winter and putting money back in people’s pockets.”
