Eyewitnesses living next to the farm rushed out into the road after seeing the flames and the flashing lights of the emergency services at around 10pm.

Neighbour Frank Rashliegh said he saw ‘a lot of commotion.’

Gwen Miller, of Marlborough Avenue, said: "I knew there was a lot of activity last night around the area, but I'm shocked and saddened to hear a person has died. It is awful."

South Road resident Isabel Adams said she was upset to hear what had happened.

She said: “It is really sad – an awful thing to happen right behind my house.”

CID West is investigating the circumstances of the death and the fire. The incident is being investigated as an unexplained death.
