A SUPPORT group for parents of gay children is urging people to share their worries.
New research carried out by local group Ricochet has indicated problems are more than halved when people share their concerns with others in the same situation.
The group asked parents who attend its support sessions in Dorchester to score their level of distress out of ten at their first meeting and again after attending a number of sessions.
The average score for all respondents dropped from eight at the start to just two by the time they had attended just a few sessions.
The group can help people with how to tell friends and family, how to deal with what people think and say about their children and about them and adjusting to a different future.
Ricochet meets on the first Saturday of every month, with the next meeting on February 2.
