SUPPORTERS of Southill Community Centre are urging people to vote for the building to have a free renewable energy makeover.

The community building is one of five south and west Dorset facilities to have made it through to the second stage of Puragen’s Keeping it Local campaign.

Bookings secretary Rose Bruce said: “We have got through the first stage and have to get votes to get through to the next stage.

“Our gas heating system has seen better days and the continual increase in energy costs has an effect on the hire charges we have to apply.

“A better energy system would obviously reduce our running costs and keep hiring costs down. We would therefore be very keen to work with Puragen to bring our vision to reality.”

The prize for the winning nomination is up to £7500 including VAT for a renewable technology system and installation supplied and installed by Puragen.
