A MAN has been arrested after vehicle was broken into in Dorchester .

Inspector Steve Marsh, of Dorchester Police, said the local male was arrested in the early hours of yesterday in the Castle Park area of the town.

He said a member of the public alerted the police after hearing the sound of breaking glass and a man was found close by in possession of property from the vehicle.

Insp Marsh says police also want to hear from anybody else in the vicinity who may have had their vehicle broken into over the weekend as they believe more than one vehicle may have been targeted.

The arrested man has been released on bail while police continue their enquiries.

Anyone with information is asked to contact Dorchester Police Station on 101.
