DORSET is set to feel the chill again this week, with a cold weather warning in force. The Met Office has said there is an 80 per cent probability of severe cold weather and icy conditions. It is an extension of a warning that was put in place last Wednesday as freezing temperatures gripped the county.
It dipped to as low as -5°C on Saturday night and snow flurries were seen in Weymouth at the weekend.
Temperatures will hover around 3°C in Weymouth throughout tonight but it will feel in the minuses, a Met Office spokesman said.
In Dorchester, temperatures reached -1°C in the early hours of this morning. It is expected that temperatures will recover during today as less cold air is expected to move in.
A spokesman for Dorset County Council said gritting lorries were out preparing the roads on Saturday and last night.
The warning is set at Level 2 meaning residents are asked to take caution when travelling.
