A TEAM from Poundbury Gardens will take on colleagues in a charity wheelbarrow push.
As part of Garden Re-Leaf Day 2013, the team from Poundbury as well as from Castle Gardens in Sherborne and Brimsmore Gardens in Yeovil will be pushing brightly-coloured wheelbarrows between the three centres on Wednesday, March 6, and Thursday, March 7.
The event has been dubbed the Big Push and will raise money for the Greenfingers charity, which creates gardens in children’s hospices, as the teams collect funds in the run-up to the event and along the way.
Organiser Steve Fry said: “Greenfingers is a wonderful charity and we are all keen to support the work this charity does to help families and children who are in need of support. “Many of us have families and to push a wheelbarrow and raise money seems such a small thing to do – but we want it to have a big result. “We are hoping to drop in to several local gardening clubs along the way.”
Any gardening clubs that want to support the event can contact Steve on 01935 814633 or email steve@thegardensgroup.co.uk.
