POLICE hunting thieves who stole a large amount of alcohol from a Weymouth supermarket have released CCTV images of three men.
The theft happened at Asda in Newstead Road.
Police said the suspects entered the store and loaded a large quantity of bottles into a number of freezer-type bags, placed them into a trolley and left without paying.
The total value of the alcohol stolen is believed to be around £820.
PC Neil Fitch of Weymouth police said: “Following enquiries, I am now able to release three CCTV images of three men who may be able to help us with our investigation.
“This is a theft of a large amount of alcohol from a big supermarket, and this has obviously been a carefully planned crime.
“I would urge the men pictured – and anyone who recognises them – to contact Dorset Police, in confidence, as soon as possible.”
The incident happened sometime between 7.15pm on Tuesday February 26 and the same time the following day – but the details have just been released by Dorset Police.
