THE Coastguard Rescue Helicopter was scrambled following reports of an angler who had taken ill.
The 70-year-old man, on the West Bay angling boat Dawn Mist, had been lapsing in and out of consciousness and was flown to Dorset County Hospital in Dorchester.
Portland Coastguard established a link call between the vessel and a doctor at Queen Alexandra Hospital in Portsmouth, who advised immediate evacuation.
It happened shortly before 11am yesterday.
