Through your columns I wish to express my sincere gratitude, not only to Dr Costales and other staff members of the Preston Road surgery but also to the numerous dedicated members of staff at Dorset County Hospital, where I have recently spent several days.

The care I received there, in the A&E department, the EMU and later in the cardiology and coronary care units was was administered without exception by professional, dedicated and compassionate individuals.

The procedure I underwent would possibly be considered fairly routine by those people who were caring for me but as far as I was concerned, it was one of the major experiences in my life, which I faced with no small degree of apprehension.

It has to be said that not only the skill but also the support and numerous reassurances I was afforded, by each and every one of those members of staff.

Among these I must include cleaning staff and pharmacists in addition the nurses and doctors, who did so much to raise my levels of confidence.
