ACTION man Jonathan Peirce is gearing up for a gruelling season of challenges in the name of charity.

Dorset Blind Association volunteer Jonathan is putting his best foot forward and walking the Jurassic Coast from Exmouth in Devon to Hengistbury Head in Dorset to support the organisation.

The effort, in 10 stages on 10 consecutive Saturdays, starting this weekend, is to raise funds for people of working age with visual impairment.

Once it’s all finished, Jonathan won’t be hanging up his walking boots. He will be following his challenge by walking the Isle of Wight from June 7-13 and then tackling the Three Peaks Challenge on July 6, 8 and 10.

Finally, on September 15 the intrepid Jonathan will be taking part in Dorset Blind Association’s 10k sponsored run.

He said: “The reason for all this activity is to help people with visual impairment back into work by improving their computer skills.

“I want to get the right software and equipment, as well as the tutors to carry out the training, so that people can gain the skills they need.”

Jonathan is a volunteer at Dorset Blind Association’s Lighthouse group and Hard of Hearing group.

“I know that the more money I raise, the more training and equipment we can get and the more beneficial it will be for everyone,” he added.

Dorset Blind Association helps up to 1,000 blind or partially sighted people each month. To sponsor Jonathan visit his Just Giving page at justgiving.co.uk/jonathan-peirce or text JPBW13£5 to 70070.
