I drove along Abbotsbury Road and passed the very end of the Rodwell Trail.

I caught a glimpse of some rusty ironworks and I later realised that what I had seen were three figures in steel who immortalise the town’s heroes.

It seems a shame that the ‘artist’ should have decided not to treat the metal figures by rust-proofing them in some way.

Is he suggesting that by allowing them to rust, he is symbolising Weymouth?
