WHISPER it quietly but there’s a good chance we might not see any rain for a whole week – and the temperatures will be pleasantly warm too.

After a cold and wet spring, it looks like the sunshine has finally decided to make an appearance. And after a week in which we have seen rain on five of the last seven days, it can’t come soon enough.

According to the Met Office, the next five days will bring a mixture of sunny intervals and full-on sunshine, while temperatures will be between 17 and 20 degrees Celsius.

Dr Richard Wild, of Dorset-based business WeatherNet, said the forecast looked good until next Friday, with just a slight risk of showers on Sunday.

“The temperatures will be around 19 or 20 degrees Celsius, which is nothing unusual,” he said.

“Those temperatures are normal for this time of year but they appear unusual because of the weather we have previously experienced.

“It’s early June, early summer and we are actually going to be experiencing normal weather for a change!”

He said the pleasant conditions would continue until June 8 to 11, when the temperatures are likely to drop slightly and the weather will turn more unsettled.
