FIREFIGHTERS were called to a vehicle fire by the A35 near Bere Regis last night.
A crew from the village were called to Morden Park Corner at around 10.15pm and found a vehicle well alight.
The road was closed whilst the crew tackled the blaze and they were able to get it under control by 10.35pm.
A spokesman for Dorset Fire and Rescue Service said the fire, which caused severe damage to the engine compartment and much of the interior of the car, was an unknown engine fault.
