ALL these dogs want for Christmas is a good home.
They have been taken in by Dorset-based registered charity the Stray Dogs Sanctuary.
Charity chairman Judy Townsend says their dogs need homes and the sanctuary needs space for the inevitable post-Christmas glut of unwanted pets.
Among the dogs that need re-homing are an eight-year-old lurcher who was returned to the sanctuary after the man who took him away became too ill to continue caring for him and another that was found tied to a gatepost in Briantspuddle.
Other breeds that need help include a Rottweiler and Rottweiler-cross, a Staffordshire bull terrier and Staffordshire-cross, a greyhound and a Jack Russell.
Mrs Townsend said: "We're absolutely choc-a-bloc.
"We've got a lot of dogs that need to come in and, as always, we are full up where we are. We never put animals down."
Anyone interested in taking on one of the dogs should be prepared to be vetted for their suitability and should call Mrs Townsend on 01202 696685.
