You can hear the latest Dorset Echo news live on air starting today.

We have teamed up with community radio station AIR 107.2FM to bring you the latest news.

You can tune in hear our reporters at 8.20am and 4.20pm every weekday on the local station which is growing in popularity in the community.

AIR stands for All Inclusive Radio and its aim is to give everyone in the community the chance to get involved in the station.

After starting as a school project the station has gone from strength to strength and launched on FM in May.

AIR’s Carl Greenham said: “It is great to have the Dorset Echo on board.

“Just over three months ago, Air 107.2 set out to empower the voice of the local community – to entertain, inform, and empower our listeners and to celebrate our area and the people who live here.

“We have brought a younger feel to radio through the training that we provide for young people and they have brought in the music that they like to listen to. “We have worked hard to promote new music, to encourage local and original music through both our programming and our live shows where musicians are essential to our output.

“We carry advice and information, support and publicise many local events and festivals that have a charitable purpose, support school activities and give help and publicity to local providers.”

Echo editor Toby Granville said: “We are delighted to team up with AIR which is a growing voice in the community. We hope our readers will tune in to listen to everything it has to offer including the latest news from the Dorset Echo.”
