A DORCHESTER man celebrated his 65th birthday by raising much-needed funds for the Dorset and Somerset Air Ambulance.
Arthur Dyke donated all the money he received for the special event to the charity.
He encouraged guests to a party to make a donation to the cause instead of buying him birthday presents.
Arthur’s friend Ian Titterington said a total of £350 was raised from the celebration and the evening proved to be a ‘huge success’.
A cheque presentation took place at the Trinity Club in the county town earlier this month.
Mr Dyke, who has two sons Andrew, 41 and 37-year-old Anthony, handed over the money at the event to Dorset and Somerset Air Ambulance representative Keith Wilson.
