A fun-loving pensioner danced the day away to celebrate his 100th birthday.
Stanley Banham was thrown a party at Avenue House retirement home in Dorchester earlier this month.
The centenarian, who has been a keen dancer all his life, was also treated to dinner at the Blue Vinny by his family beforehand.
Son Arnold said: “He’s got a bit of a reputation at the care home. There’s always a twinkle in his eye when he’s talking to the ladies.
“He loves a dance and I’m sure he’ll be up taking the ladies around the floor.”
Mr Banham served in the Army during the Second World War and became a chef after he was injured by shrapnel.
“Ever since then he’s been able to cook,” his son said.
After the war, Mr Banham was a warehouseman and worked in China.
The life-long Arsenal fan has two sons, a granddaughter and has recently become a great-grandfather.
Son Arnold said: “We have always been a close family.
“Although my brother lives in Nottingham and dad lived in London until moving to Dorset, we are always there for one another.”
