A CAR has collided with a telegraph pole on the A31 at Stag Gate this morning. The incident happened at 6.01am.
The road was closed in both directions for nearly three hours.
A spokesperson for Dorset Police said they had been called by ambulance crews.
Eight officers were sent to the scene.
The road is closed from Bere Regis to the Roundhouse roundabout.
It is not known how long the road will be closed as there is difficulty getting an engineer to the scene to deal with the telegraph pole, the police spokesperson said.
The road cannot reopen until the pole is removed.
The person driving the silver Mini Cooper was taken to hospital.
Their condition is unknown at this time but the injuries do not appear serious said Dorset Police. More follows.
