TWO overdue divers were reported missing during a busy day for coastguards.

The Portland Coastguard Rescue Helicopter and Weymouth RNLI all weather and Inshore lifeboats were scrambled to Lulworth Banks and located the divers, following the call at 3.47pm yesterday.

Portland Coastguard was called to help a motor boat which broke down at the north entrance of Portland Harbour with three people aboard.

Coastguards were called at 7.20pm after a 40 tonne boulder fell from cliffs near Golden Cap.

A large crater was left in the beach below and a search of the area found that no people were involved.

St Alban’s Coastguard Rescue Officers were called after someone saw three unattended holdall bags left on the shore at Winspit, near Worth Matravers.

A search of the area was carried out at 2.33pm yesterday and nothing was found.

A small Bayliner motor boat broke down off the beach at 2.44pm while the two people aboard were watching the Bournemouth Air Show.

Poole RNLI Inshore lifeboat towed them towards Swanage where the Swanage RNLI inshore lifeboat took over the tow and took them to their mooring in Swanage.

An unnamed 20ft speedboat broke down near Old Harry rocks with three people aboard Poole RNLI Inshore Lifeboat was tasked from safety cover at Bournemouth Air Festival at 4.44pm and found that the boat had a pot line round its propeller.

They freed the pot line and escorted the vessel back into Poole Harbour.
