I urge the citizens of Weymouth not to be despondent about the proposed axing of summer fun events.
Instead regard it as an opportunity to remarket the resort.
Weymouth could become the: “Premier Puritan Holiday Destination of Choice”
Think of it? Park and ride would become park and walk, Sea Life Centre the ducking pond and witches could be burned on the Nothe (saving money on beacons). Of course pubs, clubs and cafes would be closed, T-shirts and shorts banned and a general air of melancholy maintained by the now redundant parking wardens.
Oh! I cannot wait. And think of the celebrations once the season has ended.
