I’VE always been a fan of Prezzo. You can find one of their restaurants in most towns and cities and they are a great place to have a meal with friends and family at affordable prices.

What’s even better is that the chain runs some fantastic voucher code offers throughout the year to entice diners.

The Ringwood branch was packed on the ground and first floor when we visited.

Prezzo menus are famous for offering a wide range of traditional Italian dishes.

There is a good selection of starters to choose from, including crab cakes, garlic bread and king prawns.

I went for the baked mushrooms. The dish came with six mushrooms coated in breadcrumbs stuffed with grana padano cheese, garlic and onions.

The mushrooms were really flavoursome and just enough to keep the rumbling tummy away.

The variety of mains on the menu is to be commended.

There is a choice of pizzas, pasta, risottos, salads, chicken and a range of smaller dishes. I chose the generously sized mushroom risotto.

The rice was cooked to perfection and went beautifully with tasty field mushrooms and baby spinach.

My friend had a classic tri gusti pizza, which consisted of pepperoni sausage, seasoned chicken, pancetta bacon, fresh rosemary, mozzarella, tomato on a thin crispy base.

It was well cooked and packed full of flavour.

For pudding I stuck with tradition and plumped for the tiramisu.

The Prezzo version comprises of layers of rich mascarpone cream and Savioardi sponge fingers soaked in espresso coffee.

This was really yummy and a must for dessert fans.

Staff in the restaurant were great, from offering to turn down the air-conditioning that was blasting our way, to speedy service.
