Street art project set for West Dorset
A STREET art project in West Dorset is set to reduce vandalism and damage caused by graffiti and tagging.
Gillian Summer, chairman of West Dorset District Council, announced the plans to channel the talents and energy of people who want to graffiti into something positive.
Blank walls will be set up in Dorchester, Sherborne and Bridport displaying the project's logo.
This is so anyone who wants to produce the art can do so in an acceptable environment.
Coun Summers said: “We will start the ball rolling by announcing the locations on the Twitter and Facebook pages shortly.
“This is a simple low-cost venture, no forms to fill out, no money to pay, and no age limit - just an opportunity to show what you can do so long as it's in the right place.”
The site will be announced on social media through Twitter and Facebook in the coming weeks.
The competition will finish in April, with an award ceremony and prizes given for the best pieces of work.
