Literacy in the third world
DORCHESTER Rotary Club is supporting education in developing countries through the Literacy in a Box Trust.
The ‘Box’ contains exercise books, pens and pencils, chalk, slate boards and much more in 25 backpacks so each child has a backpack of their own.
Boxes cost £275 including shipping, and the Rotary Club of Dorchester is asking people to donate money they would have spent on Christmas cards towards the cost of a box.
Cheques to be made payable to the Rotary Club of Dorchester and sent to Andrew Jones at Prospect House, Peverell Avenue East, Poundbury, Dorchester, DT1 3WE.
